भारत ने इस्लामिक सहयोग संगठन (OIC) द्वारा भारतीय मुसलमानों की स्थिति और भारत-पाकिस्तान के संबंधों पर की गई आलोचना को सख्त शब्दों में खारिज कर दिया है। तुर्की में हुए विदेश मंत्रियों के सम्मेलन के दौरान दिए गए इन बयानों को भारत ने “राजनीतिक रूप से प्रेरित” और “तथ्यों से परे” बताया। विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि ओआईसी का मंच पाकिस्तान द्वारा “राजनीतिक हितों” के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है, जिसने आतंकवाद को अपनी नीति का हिस्सा बना लिया है।

विदेश मंत्रालय (MEA) ने कहा कि ओआईसी को भारत के आंतरिक मामलों—खासतौर पर जम्मू-कश्मीर—पर टिप्पणी करने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि ओआईसी ने एक बार फिर पाकिस्तान से उत्पन्न आतंकवाद की अनदेखी की है, जो हाल ही में पहलगाम हमले में स्पष्ट रूप से देखा गया। यह हमला पाकिस्तान समर्थित आतंकवादियों द्वारा अंजाम दिया गया था, जिसमें कई निर्दोष लोगों की जान गई थी।

India has strongly rejected comments made by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that criticized the treatment of Indian Muslims and called for bilateral dialogue between India and Pakistan. The OIC’s observations, made during a foreign ministers’ conclave in Turkey, were labelled by India as politically motivated and factually incorrect, accusing the bloc of acting under Pakistan’s influence.

India calls OIC remarks politically driven

In a firm statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it “categorically rejects” the references made by the OIC to India’s internal affairs, including Jammu and Kashmir. It described the remarks as “unwarranted” and “factually incorrect,” stating they reflect the continued misuse of the OIC platform for narrow political objectives, particularly by Pakistan.

The MEA criticised Pakistan’s role in influencing the OIC agenda, saying Islamabad has converted terrorism into an instrument of state policy. Referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the MEA said that OIC’s failure to acknowledge terrorism emanating from Pakistan showed a “wilful disregard” for real and documented threats.

India also underlined that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, as defined by its Constitution, and that the OIC has “no locus standi” to comment on such internal matters. The statement added that the OIC should seriously reflect on the risks of allowing itself to be manipulated by Pakistan’s propaganda.

India defends Operation Sindoor and counters Pakistan’s claims

India also pushed back against Pakistan’s accusations of military aggression. The MEA said that India’s Operation Sindoor was a “precise and legitimate act of self-defence” in response to the Pahalgam attack, which was carried out by terrorists operating from Pakistani territory.

The ministry dismissed as “absurd” Pakistan’s claim that its military retaliation was aimed solely at Indian military targets, arguing that the counterattacks endangered civilians and caused casualties among the population. The MEA also called out Pakistan’s human rights record, labelling it “abysmal,” and accused the country of harbouring terrorists and committing sectarian violence.

Calling Pakistan’s statements at the OIC a “desperate attempt” to divert global attention from its own record of “state-sponsored terrorism, minority persecution, and governance failure,” India reiterated that it outrightly rejects any attempts to misrepresent its domestic matters on global platforms.

The MEA’s response signals a continued hardline stance from New Delhi when confronted with international criticism influenced by Pakistan, especially concerning the sensitive issues of Kashmir, terrorism, and minority rights.
